Evidently some kind of surface pressure gradient, but the East Pacific High wasn't moving in, and the only low seemed to be related to high temperatures in the deserts. In other words, not much out there. So why was it so windy all night and much of the day?
As long as it doesn't mess with anything near Van Nuys, that's all I care about. For all I care, it could have been voodoo magic.
