A Boy And His Pig

(via Shayne Bowman) An 11-year-old Alabama boy used a pistol to kill a wild hog that just may be the biggest pig ever found.

Jamison Stone's father says the hog his son killed weighed a 1,051 pounds and measured 9-feet-4 from the tip of its snout to the base of its tail. Think hams as big as car tires.

If the claims are accurate, Jamison's trophy boar would be bigger than Hogzilla, the famed wild hog that grew to seemingly mythical proportions after being killed in south Georgia in 2004.

...Jamison is reveling in the attention over his pig, which has a Web site put up by his father that is generating Internet buzz.

...Jamison is enjoying the newfound celebrity generated by the hog hunt, but he said he prefers hunting pheasants to monster pigs.

"They are a little less dangerous."

The Funeral Of John F. Kennedy - Part 5

I watched Kennedy's Funeral Procession again last night on C-SPAN. When I was 7 years old I watched the entire four hours of programming straight, without a break, which made my parents wonder about my mental state. The memory of the drums is just as vivid today as 50 years ago, but I had forgotten about Chopin's Funeral March.

Didn't Realize Nani's Movie Had Been Reissued

2005's "Stranded" is a surprisingly-good short horror film. Nani is victim number one.

What's Nani Been Doing Lately?

She used to grace Sacramento, but these days she's in other places.

Last time I checked on her, she had taken up juggling. Here, she juggles in northeast Arizona.

Lately, she's taken up belly-dancing too, and mixing it with juggling, here, apparently in Prescott, Arizona.

Dimples

Just want to tell my dentist to shut up:
Like other teeth-grinders, you have dimples on your chewing surfaces. This one's growing larger, and we might have to do something about it.

What I Did On Saturday

Raked leaves.

Because, when you live in Sacramento in the autumn, that's all you have time to do on Saturdays.

Stop That Beat!

I like a Google search term someone used in Poland that leads directly to my blog: "can you stop the beet waldez"

Yes, I can!

Continuing BrBa Re-Binge-Watching

Taco Hell

(via Donna McGregor) Teaching kids about the importance of following the rules:
Seven security guards were dispatched to deal with an 11-year-old girl who had snapped a photo of a Taco Bell inside the food court of an Indiana shopping mall Friday night, insisting that she delete the photo.

But the girl, who was in tears because she thought she was going to jail, had already deleted the photo after the Taco Bell manager had threatened to sue her.

All she wanted was a photo to post on Facebook or Instagram or text to her friends or to do whatever an 11-year-old girl who is a big fan of Taco Bell would do with a photo that probably didn’t look any different from any other photo of any other Taco Bell in any other food court in any other state.

This is about as cookie-cutter as it gets.

When Nikki Massey, the girl’s mother, confronted the manager, she was told the following:
“No one is allowed to take picture. What they did is in violation of copyright. Taco Bell can and will sue you for taking a picture.”

Pictures Of Me Doing Random Things In "Oliver!"

Third weekend of "Oliver!"

For some reason, I have trouble avoiding stepping on Summer's skirt in the "Consider Yourself" dance sequence. I ripped her skirt partially-off on both Saturday and Sunday. It's beginning to get tedious, this skirt-ripping stuff. I'll just have to slow down there and make sure I'm not stepping on it first before propelling her up, but it's harder than it would seem.
