"How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" - DMTC - Tech Week Starts

Winner of seven Tonys and the Pulitzer Prize in 1961, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying comes to the DMTC stage on April 22 through May 15, 2011. Following the advice of a book entitled, "How to Succeed in Business" (voiced by Good Day Sacramento’s Don Geronimo), a young window-cleaner, J. Pierrepont Finch (David Holmes), begins a meteoric rise from the mail-room to Vice President of Advertising at the World-Wide Wicket Company. However, Finch's dubious and uncompromising business ambition endangers not only his career but also a budding romance with secretary Rosemary Pilkington (Kay Hight).
Tech week is always hard, of course. For much of Sunday, I sat around in a lump.

At one point, I gazed over from my seat and squinted at the side door of the theater. The door was unaccountably open, and the afternoon breezes beckoned. I squinted, and saw Andy Sullivan move a bag of drumming tools into the theater. I felt relieved at that sight: no matter what else might happen, our percussive fate was secure.

Last night, I dreamt that Andy Hyun invited me on a spring break train journey down to Carlsbad, near San Diego, with him and his friends. So much fun (but what about the show, a tiny little voice in my head asked?)
