There seems to be a surprising rash of bicycle/car accidents in the Sacramento area these days. It's unnerving!
Driving to work several weeks ago, I saw the mute testimony of an accident at 21st St. and Capitol Avenue: garbage truck, mangled bicycle, cop cars everywhere. I came across an October 24th story in the print version of the Sacramento Bee indicating the truck had turned left in front of the bicycle, and even though the bicyclist had been badly-hurt, he's expected to survive.
So, he's one of the lucky ones.....
I don't know why there is consistent rise in the number of road accidents in USA. I have noted down about 7% increases since last year survey.
