Special Shapes Glowdeo - Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta 2011

Impressions of the Special Shapes Glowdeo, at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, on Thursday evening October 6, 2011.

This was a forced march filled with hazards. Having waited too long in the fair-food line for nachos, my sisters insisted we had to quickly locate the Butterfly, the Bees, and Spider Pig, which were located at the other end of the field. The field was rain-soaked, I had the video camera in one hand, the nachos in the other hand, a soda in the third hand, and a still camera in the fourth hand. And worst of all, for stumbling hazards, there were baby strollers everywhere! But we had a great time nonetheless!

What's the Spider Pig song?:
SPIDER PIG
SPIDER PIG
Does whatever a SPIDER PIG does

Can he swing
From a web
No he cant
He's a pig

LOOK OOOUUUTTT!!!!
He is a SPIDER PIG!!

Following the Special Shapes Glowdeo at Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta on Thursday evening, October 6, 2011, there was a Fireworks show sponsored by the Albuquerque Journal.

We were quite close to the firing site, and sometimes suffered fireworks fallout. At the start of the video, engine noise is from an idling vehicle trying to leave the parking lot.

Explaining meteorology with pulleys and chains. The "Albuquerque Box" (a mountain-valley circulation), which helps retain balloons in the Rio Grande Valley, rather than letting them blow all over the Texas panhandle.

Approaching sunset, with only the uper half of the Sandia Mountains visible from the Fiesta midway.
