Technology Helps Disseminate The Bad News

Like tens of thousands of folks who left Galveston in advance of Hurricane Ike, my coworker's friend's brother was trying to figure out if his house was still standing, or not. But how to learn this information with return to the city so difficult?

Hard information came at 11:45 into this Sept. 15th video carried by Houston's KPRC Channel 2. Frank Billingsley narrated what he found in a helicopter tour of Galveston.

My coworker states:

Here's the bullshit thing of it all. [My friend's brother] was fully covered with fire, hurricane and flood insurance. His insurance company is now claiming that it was the "STORM SURGE" that was responsible for the damages and a surge is not covered by flood insurance.
