Shoes To Die For
One of the legacies of "La Cage Aux Folles" has been a heightened sense of what's important, and what's not.
Last night, I addressed a young woman leaving the stage after an ecdysiasical act and said "I really like your shoes!" And the shoes were just to die for: immense plexiglass platforms with tall, sharp stilleto heels. She seemed surprised by the compliment and at a loss for for words for a second or two. She then said, with a pleased smile: "Thanks. I just bought them today. I'm glad you noticed!"
