No One Wants To Play K-Pop Demon Hunters

Today at school recess (September 5th), I observed a group of girls teasing a boy. The girls flirted with 5th-grade sophistication, by surrounding the boy, lightly punching his shoulders, and ineffectively kicking him. The boy looked pleased to be the center of attention.

I instructed the girls to be much more gentle to the boy, to almost hug him. The girls were amused by my suggestion and followed my advice for about a minute before returning to kicking him ineffectively. Everyone seemed happy.

But there was one girl who was not happy. Indeed, she was in tears. I went to console her and find out what was wrong.

"I want to play Kpop Demon Hunters," she said. "We were all ready to start, then whatever THIS is began."

Poor girl. I suspect her next decade will be stressful, full of activities sacrificed for THIS. I wanted to round up two other playmates for her, but recess was almost over. She'll have to wait for another day.
