Today's Challenges

Today's driving challenge was that old favorite, turning right at a stop light. I look left, of course, but I always try to look right just before making the turn, because several times in my experience a skateboarder coming from the right, whose existence you never suspected, will zoom into the intersection right in front of you. 

Today, I kind of forgot, kept looking left, and started rolling forward, but had to slam on the brakes, because a kamikaze pilot in a motorized wheelchair coming from the right materialized right in front of me. 

Frickin' kamikazes! 

Today's animal challenge was going out to get the mail and meeting an unfamiliar but powerful grey cat on my front steps. Sort of a mini-panther. I try to keep my place free of cats because I want to keep the place bird-friendly, but this cat seemed unusually friendly, and barely flinched when Jasper got close. The message I got from the cat was "I own you and your place now." So, we'll see how that works out.
