American Robins Pay A Visit

Saturday morning, I was looking into the misty rain-drenched back yard, when I saw two gorgeous birds that looked like Robins, but which had all sorts of white spots around the eyes and stripes on the throat. Those extra features made me wonder if they were something else.

According to Stokes' "Field Guide to the Birds of North America" they were indeed American Robins! I guess Robins have more-intricate plumage than I was previously-aware.
