Apart from places like the Hollywood Walk of Fame, you don't find that many celebrity statues in public places in the U.S. Yet, Australian celebrities do get this honor:
Meanwhile, back home in Australia, it has been revealed that Kylie is set to be the fifth and final Australian 'legend' of the entertainment industry to be immortalised in the form of a larger-than-life bronze statue. The statue will stand alongside likenesses of Graham Kennedy, John Farnham, Dame Nellie Melba and Dame Edna Everage, the first two of which will be unveiled this Saturday night at a gala event at Waterfront City at Docklands.Celebrities seem to occupy a more important, culturally-significant place in Australian public life than they do in U.S. public life.
