Well we've opened "Show Boat" at DMTC. I'm scared witless through most of the show, because of all the various set changes that can go wrong. No one stepped on Audrey Green during the opening weekend, thank goodness, but Doug Ackermann got an ugly rip in his hand, so there is still plenty of stuff that can derail. Plus, next weekend, we have dread 'second Friday', when the overconfident typically have their lungs ripped out for them. I play nasty Pete Gavin in the first act, and pleasant Jake the piano player in the second act, plus random dancing guy in both acts, and all-around thruster of furniture. It's a nice show - I hope James Stark's photos turn out well - I'll post a few when they are ready!
Sacramento area community musical theater (esp. DMTC in Davis, 2000-2020); Liberal politics; Meteorology; "Breaking Bad," "Better Call Saul," and Albuquerque movie filming locations; New Mexico and California arcana, and general weirdness.
