Just a note for the interim. Been chugging through genealogical data at the NM Archives in Santa Fe. Found some interesting stuff, but it's still pretty thin gruel so far. Discovered one gentleman, a candymaker by trade, moved from Chihuahua, Mexico to NM in 1852. How odd.... a candymaker! Was it the chronically-weak Mexican economy that sent him north, or some alluring sweet thing? I wonder what else is buried in the archives?
On Monday George W. Bush gave a speech at a factory in Bernalillo, NM. I learned about it in the morning paper and raced out there, and I got to see his motorcade rumble past. A fun tale I will expand upon later.
Later, this weekend, a quick trip to Vegas. Should be fun!
