The Flooding at McCook Lake

I saw this video on TikTok late last month, and it bothered me because of the sheer injustice of it. Government authorities deliberately flooded this area, in order to avoid flooding in wealthier areas.

 

@myrandapolisci Replying to @Janya🇵🇷 Here is the update. McCook Lake was completey destroyed after a levee was built to redirect all of the wayer to rhem protecting other communitites. Absolute devastation so many people I know lost everything. There is definitely more to the poltics I can get in to later.
