Recycling Bras

Today I'm trying to hunt down Arizona tire recyclers. This doesn't quite count, but it's along the same line:
Where do used bras or the newer ones that don't fit you right end up? The answer may be landfills. Elaine Birks-Mitchell had 12 such bras that didn't fit right in her drawer. That is when she decided a couple of years ago to donate her unused lingerie to a shelter for women in Arizona. This gave the impetus for her to start in 2008 The Bra Recyclers, for profit organisation that offers an environmentally friendly and cheap way to donate baras to breast cancer survivors and women in transitional shelters.

Wiggles/Yung Joc Mashup

I was trying to find an accelerated beat to Yung Joc's "It's Going Down", of the sort that they use in Pepper's fitness classes (compelling beat). Can't find it, but they do have this mashup of the music with The Wiggles.

Magdalena, NM, Runs Out Of Water

Surprised it's happening there, but it's inevitable given how bad things are:
Last month locals noticed their tap water was a little cloudy, so they called Steve Bailey, the local utility manager. When he went to inspect the city's sole underground well, he was dumbfounded.

"Looks like what has happened is our aquifer disappeared on us," Bailey said. "We were at a certain depth a year ago...and that depth is 15 feet lower than what it was."

Residents only had a 24 hour notice before they ran out of water.
Magdalena isn't the driest place in New Mexico, by a long shot. Maybe the aquifer isn't the greatest quality - too close to the mountains. Every place has its downside. If they are having problems there, it's bound to be worse elsewhere. A wake-up call to start installing rain-water collection systems!

Greta Gerwig On David Letterman

Sacramento's Greta Gerwig discusses her giant leg, and gets a standing ovation.

Reminds Me Of Me And The Local Birds

Ishi Wasn't The Last Stone-Age Californian

John is in Oklahoma City, reads the Internet, and notices the odd things:
Here we are 100 years later and a spear-throwing man from an earlier era appears in your city. What a - um - remarkable link to the past....
You know who’s to blame for all this: Barack Hussein Obama. This location is less than a thousand feet from ‘Just Guns’, the biggest gun emporium in Sacramento. I bet the poor bastard didn’t have any ammunition because the craven liberals at the Pentagon are buying all the bullets. So a Neanderthal has to do what a Neanderthal has to do, with whatever tool is at hand.

Things are a little out-of-control up there on Auburn Boulevard. It’s no surprise that that is where Joe the Plumber spent last winter in his broken-down van in the parking lot of a seedy motel. I was driving up there with him last December and he excitedly pointed out a building behind which was supposedly an open-air sex bazaar featuring numerous prostitutes. He was disappointed I didn’t want to swing on by. I figure, if Joe knew about this place, and that it actually existed, that every cop in Sacramento County knew about it too, and had the place under heavy surveillance.

Jetta Gets A Cameo On Jimmy Fallon!

This is great! My friend Jetta auditioned for "America's Got Talent" and was disappointed when she wasn't featured on its season premiere show on June 4th. But there is a silver lining. First on Katie Couric on May 28th, and apparently last night on Jimmy Fallon, Howard Stern is using her appearance to promote "America's Got Talent".
