According to Jasper, the entire point of taking long walks is to harass small animals. Last night, I had to restrain him when we returned to the back gate, and found a skunk had taken advantage of Jasper’s temporary absence to poke around for food.
This morning, Jasper pursued a small animal underneath a hedge. Looking at the shrubbery, I discovered a twenty-dollar bill squirreled in the foliage, which I pocketed.
We profit from walks in our own ways.
