Rainy May continues in Sacramento! Current May rainfall of 2.14 in. at Sacramento Executive Airport (record starting in 1948) makes 2019 the third rainiest May on record so far (1948 is the record - 3.13 in. - and 1998 is second).
Regarding the station with the longest rainfall record in Sacramento (Sacramento 5 ESE, with a record starting in 1878), 2.38 in. of rain so far makes 2019 tied for eighth rainiest May on record (1889 is the record - 3.25 in. - with 1883, 1892, 1900, 1905, 1915, 1948, 1990, and 1998 also having rainier Mays than 2019 so far).
If we get another inch of rain this month, we'll blow through the records, but we aren't quite there yet.
