I left musical theater rehearsal in Davis, CA, at 10:30 p.m. and headed towards to Reno. Just east of the Yolo Bypass Causeway, even before I reached the I-80 turnoff from Highway 50, there was trouble. There was a big block of ice skipping across the freeway like an out-of-control air hockey puck. It missed me but hit several other vehicles. But the rest of the trip over Donner Pass was uneventful. I arrived in Reno at at 1 a.m., got a motel room, and tried to sleep.Thursday, August 24, 2017
