Ballet is a rather new art, and ballet educational lineages are fairly-short. Since Preobajenska directly taught the globe-trotting dancers of the Ballet Russe, many of whom settled in the United States when its ballet tradition was yet forming, most American ballet dancers today can trace their educational lineage directly to her.
