Take 1 was a fiasco. I rolled Jasper into the alley behind my house, which happened to be directly in-between an exposed squirrel in the parking lot and the safety of the trees. The squirrel made a mad evasive dodge for the trees. In response, Jasper leaped out of the stroller and ran at high speed after the squirrel, kicking off his splint with the pretty pink bandage, and hammering his healing foot into the pavement. Only after failing to catch the squirrel (as always - has any dog ever caught a squirrel?) did he realize his foot hurt.
It being a Sunday, with my usual vet at Midtown Animal Hospital closed, I took Jasper to the VCA Emergency Hospital in Rancho Cordova. After much $$$ Jasper now has a pretty blue bandage on his leg.
I dropped by the nearby Ballet Studio to explain the situation to my classmates already hard at work in Sunday class. Elaine smiled and called Jasper “impetuous.”
