It's kind of a sober birthday. Back in 1992, my mother passed away, two days short of her 69th birthday. I've now hit her mark. I'm looking over the crest of the rainbow and seeing days that she never saw.
Several other friends and relatives also died recently. The older you get the more likely this state of affairs becomes. Memorial services crowd in.
But I'm also a Boomer (albeit a late, Generation-Jones version of a Boomer). And Boomers have problems acknowledging reality.
So, here's to a cheerful future, and the fulfilling 69 years yet to come!
