Eureka! Some Progress on a Thread of Thought I Started Back at NM Tech
Place names are important. For 42 years I've suffered, wondering what they called this one place. Tonight, I learn it's called LA 575. That's a start....
Were you on that trip into the far east boonies? Poking around where an old ruin was collapsing into an arroyo? In the process of obtaining the only printed reference I've been able to find. I'd like to know more about it.
Aye. It has a name! And it's been studied, at least to a limited extent. There's a document from 1940 I'm obtaining where it's discussed. I'd like to have a sense of what's known. I recall submitting a chunk of wood to the U of A tree rings lab in Tucson, hoping to get a date, but they returned it without one. Maybe I can figure it out without them.
I wonder what its current condition is? As I recall pictures showed a section eroding pretty significantly and there have been some heavy rains in the last 42 years. If you have them please e-mail me the coordinates for Google Earth.
What/where is it?

ReplyDeleteNo. I think Walt and Dyer were with you on that trip. So, is LA575 a designation of an archaeological site? (John)
