New Mexico Museum of Military History

There is a new museum in Albuquerque (opened Memorial Day): Nat Holzer's New Mexico Museum of Military History. Here is an interesting article about them. Even though the museum is closed on Mondays, museum Board members Harry and Kenny showed me around.

It turns out running a non-profit community theater, and a non-profit military museum, have broad similarities. It was fun comparing notes about being on the Boards. We had a lot in common. "You never close your facility in order to raise funds because..." I started, and Kenny correctly finished the thought: "because you'll never open again!" Touché!

Here is a Gama Goat, a Vietnam-era (built in 1971) six-wheel-drive amphibious (provided the waves aren't too high and it remains watertight) vehicle.
