Checking out Albuquerque-based movies, I stumbled across this comedic scene, starring Kristen Wiig. Funny!
Sacramento area community musical theater (esp. DMTC in Davis, 2000-2020); Liberal politics; Meteorology; "Breaking Bad," "Better Call Saul," and Albuquerque movie filming locations; New Mexico and California arcana, and general weirdness.

Eggs, And A Story
I bought the fancy eggs. I also get a story:
"Take a second, close your eyes and picture the perfect pasture. Go on now. Did you see lush fields of grass? Wide-open spaces? Happy hens pecking and playing and dust bathing? Beautiful, right?"
Yup, want those eggs....

Reflecting on George Dawson
I wondered what had ever happened to my Ph.D. advisor, George Dawson, and found that he had passed away:
George Albert Dawson age 76, passed away in New Zealand on November 4, 2011 of heart disease after a valiant battle with Alzheimers. He was born in 1934 in Newcastle, England to George and Elizabeth Dawson and had one sibling, Celia, who predeceased him by less than a month. ... George was passionate about science, physics and chemistry (atmospheric physics and lightning especially). He was a gifted teacher and researcher and influenced the lives and careers of many young people. He taught at Keele University (England), Cal Berkeley and the University of Arizona for many years, where he became a Professor Emeritus. George loved to travel and divided his time between Arizona, Hawaii and New Zealand. He enjoyed participating in sports (soccer, golf and badminton), loved hiking and the outdoors (except gardening). He loved music, animals, antiques and collecting and repairing French clocks and musical instruments. He was a gentle soul and forever an optimist.I find it difficult to think of him suffering from Alzheimers. That is just wrong. People are so fragile.

Considering Surgery
About two years ago, I developed an umbicular hernia, and I've noticed it's changing more rapidly than ever now. I used to be an "innie," but I'm a super "outie" now.
Talked to a surgeon about surgery. I don't want to do it in the summer. Autumn approaches, and, who knows, maybe then?

Jasper and Ladybug
Jasper has a crush on Ladybug, a small Dachsund living in a second-floor apartment and the end of the alley. They are so cute, and sometimes late at night they even meet (chaperoned, of course).

Buried Treasure
Talked briefly to the crew digging a big hole at the corner of 24th & Castro in Curtis Park. Apparently there was a gas station at that corner in the 50s and 60s, long before I moved to the neighborhood, and the crew was there to remove the Underground Storage Tanks.
"I thought you were there digging up buried treasure," I said. They chuckled, and said, "No, we never see any buried treasure. Like, never. Ever."
